Adam C. Hines, MD, is a highly skilled orthopedic surgeon with expertise in sports medicine, shoulder reconstruction, and general orthopedics. As of August 2023, he has joined Legacy Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, further enhancing their team with his extensive knowledge and experience.
Dr. Hines embarked on his educational journey by earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from Texas A&M University. He then pursued his passion for medicine, earning his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center. Following the completion of his medical education, Dr. Hines honed his surgical skills during his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii.
Dedicated to serving his country, Dr. Hines provided orthopedic care to military personnel at Irwin Army Community Hospital, Fort Riley, Kansas, for several years. His commitment to excellence and leadership skills earned him early appointments as Chief of the Orthopaedics and Podiatry Department, Deputy Chief of Surgery, and Physician Assistant Student Orthopaedic Preceptor during his four years of military service. In 2017, he demonstrated his unwavering dedication by deploying with the 2nd Forward Surgical Team to Afghanistan.
Dr. Hines’s quest for advanced training led him to complete a distinguished Sports Medicine and Shoulder Reconstruction Fellowship at the renowned Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas. During this period, he provided valuable team coverage for the Colorado Rockies Spring Training and the Greenville Drive, an affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Hines is a specialist in a range of orthopedic procedures, with a particular focus on Arthroscopic Surgery, Sports Medicine, Shoulder and Knee Replacement, as well as elbow ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction and repairs (commonly known as Tommy John surgery) for throwing athletes.
Having fulfilled his military service and advanced his training, Dr. Hines, a seventh-generation Texan, is proud to return to his roots and serve the North Texas Area community that his family helped settle. Beyond his professional endeavors, he maintains an active lifestyle by engaging in running, woodworking, and sports activities. He is an active member of his local church and community and is passionate about participating in local and overseas medical mission trips.
Family holds a special place in Dr. Hines’s heart, and he finds joy in creating innovative ways to spend quality time with his wife and their four children.
